Both Porsches, along with creations already in the game from the likes of Mercedes, Lamborghini, and Mazda, will be drivable in the Gran Turismo 7 universe. The Spyder will join the coupe version of the Porsche Vision Gran Turismo concept in the game starting on September 29. The Porsche 550 is a mid-engine car with an air-cooled four-cylinder engine, following the precedent of the 1948 Porsche 356/1 prototype designed by Ferry Porsche. In that time only 90 Porsche 550s were produced, and they quickly established dominance in the 1.1- and 1.5- liter classes. The coupe is able to reach a top speed of 217 mph. The Porsche 550 is a racing sports car produced by Porsche from 1953 until 1956. Max power figures are listed as 1100 horsepower, or up to 1274 with overboost and launch control. Doubling that speed requires an additional 3.1 seconds. Getting to 62 miles per hour takes 2.1 seconds. ![]() Porsche did not give out any details on the Vision GT Spyder, but the GT concept it is based on is an all-wheel-drive electric supercar with the performance numbers to back it up. These machines were awe inspiring to some performers in their day and today still represent great handling and speed. The Spyder race cars won at such famous tracks such as Le Mans, Monza, Reims and Nürburgring, including dominant 1-2-3-4 victories. In addition to the Porsche branding on the rear bumper, the Spyder now incorporates the company name in large font extending the length of the car. The 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder is a legendary sports car with a great racing history. ![]() It shares the same rectangular headlights, which, Porsche explained, reference the Taycan. Like the supercar concept it is based on, the Vision GT Spyder wraps velvety body panels over a long-low slung frame. ![]() Porsche's newest addition to the Vision GT world is an open-top version of its concept that launched with Gran Turismo 7 in March.
